Slug Vault

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 27, 2026

1. Overview

Slug Vault is a service that lets you create password-protected, self-expiring anonymous messages. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Collect

When you create a message, we store the following data:

  • The encrypted message content
  • A hashed version of your chosen password
  • The expiry date and time you set
  • Whether the message is set to self-destruct after one view
  • The date and time the message was created

We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifiable information.

3. How We Use Your Data

The data we store is used solely to deliver the message to the intended recipient. We do not analyze, sell, or share your message content with any third party.

4. Data Retention

Messages are automatically expired and deleted after their set expiry time, or immediately after being viewed if the one-time-view option is enabled. We do not retain message content beyond these points.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect stored data, but no system is completely secure.

6. Third-Party Services

We use database to store message data. No message content is shared with any advertising or analytics services.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
